Daily Dex - Absol and Rayquaza
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop
GDQ Week is coming to a close! Make sure to watch tonight at roughly 9:20pm Eastern for adef's run of Pokemon Emerald for the Gameboy Advance; he's going to beat the game in 2 and a half hours with the event dictating which pokemon will be his main. Gonna be wild.
Anyway - in honor of that run, I've been doing Gen 3 (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) pokemon all week.
Fri 01/09/2026 - Absol
Gotta be honest. I hate this thing. The emo bangs creep me out. The biblically accurate nature of its regular mega evolution is bad but the updated Z evolution from Pokemon Z-A is even worse with the fur becoming big red claws? No thankss. Probably why I did such a half-ass job on this one. I got the face wrong at the start but we never backspace, never surrender here on the "giving these 10 minutes tops and what we get is what we get".
Sat 01/10/2026 - Rayquaza
The legend! Literally! I always viewed Farosh from Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom as very Rayquaza-inspired, only more organic...since Ray here seems to have like, mechanical parts? They have big "What if a dragon was also a missile and evolved that way naturally" that you'd usually expect from Digimon. Though I guess Blastoise also evolves guns. Who could say.

I've almost 100%'d the game and the DLC, the only thing I have left to do is a few more pokedex entries from hyperspace wild zones and catch Rayquaza. Excited to add them to my end-of-the-endgame team lmao
Anyways, this has been fun! Starting tomorrow we're back at random number generation for the project (unless people have more requests, they're always open) - just make sure you look back through the list to check if they've been hit already.
