Daily Dex - Anorith, Surskit, Pupitar and Castform
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop
Man, so. I was sinus sick for a long time with what turned out to be laryngitis and when I finally started feeling better....I had like maybe a day or two of clear before a fever rolled back in and I had a rough weekend; Monday morning I was hit with a positive covid test and dude? It's FUCKED my week.
I hurt everywhere, I'm exhausted, my breathing is compromised, sleep doesn't help but it's most of what I can do, I can't work, and it just SUCKS because like many others, I did everything "right"; I've stayed vaccinated, I mask everywhere I go, I wash my hands like I'm still working with food, I'm super cautious about this shit because I have an immunocompromised partner and kids and like.
Fuck, dude!!
It's hard not to be mad at the world at large because we could have had this in the bag in like, 2 months back in 2020 if we'd had any coherent leadership or a world that wasn't run by weird religious superstitions and capitalist prioritization of money over people. We're still supposed to (in the US anyway) have a "never forget" mentality for 9/11 when the number of dead from covid just based off 2023 numbers is like equivalent to over 300 9/11 attacks.
It's also hard not to like, lose it that any time I leave my house masked, I get aggressive stares from people.
Anyway, no real point to the whole thing other than I'm sick in bed, and I'm drawing pokemon between long resting periods and trying to stay hydrated.

Waterbugs are so cool, man. The real-life ones that skip across the surface of water? Incredible design. 10/10. The pokemon version is ok too I guess.
Weds 03/25/2026 - Pupitar
The evolution chain from Larvitar to Tyranitar is pretty bonkers in terms of the typing changes between them (from rock/ground to rock/dark), but it's even weirder in that there's no "bug" type anywhere in the line?? They used larva/pupa terminology in the naming convention! At first I thought "maybe this is just an English localization thing" but larva/baby/pupa are present in the Japanese names too. Fucken weird.
