Daily Dex - Beldum, Cosmog and Snom
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop

I'd started working on this post shortly after finishing yesterday's (1/24)'s drawing - right before I saw the news about yet again, ICE agents executing someone on the street. There is video of several agents holding down and beating a person who is on the ground before firing multiple rounds into them. I had to shelve the post and refocus for the day because it's hard not to be losing your fucking mind watching the horrors continue unabated.
It's absolutely wild to grow up in a society that (rightly) treated Nazis as the ultimate form of evil and have deep conversations with school kids about what they'd do in Anne Frank's situation etc and like. Here we are. Armed gestapo killing people on the street, government officials cheering them on to do so, and still I see people saying we need to 'Reform' ICE and not burn it all down.
You can't reform this kind of evil. The only way out of this is if every single person who has ever been involved in ICE's operations is put on trial for crimes against humanity. You would think that all of the public executions of fascists during World War 2 would have acted as a deterrent but again I say - here we are. The war crimes trials for the Nazis ended only 80 years ago. With any luck we'll have the sequel before the 100.

Fri 01/23/2026 - Beldum
The pokedex entry for these things (in Z-A anyway) is pretty wild; a single of these you've caught can evolve into the next forms (Metatang and Metagross) but the entries for those imply that multiple Beldum are needed for the evolution, and it makes sense. Metagross looks like multiple Metatang strapped together. Mechanical pokemon are weird.
Sat 01/24/2026 - Cosmog
Cosmog was a request! I wasn't sure how much the color pencils would do it justice since it's so watercolor ethereal in design but I think it turned out ok.
Sun 01/25/2026 - Snom
It's snowing pretty heavily where I live today (which to be clear, I'm stoked about - I'll post more gifs of snow later) so I wanted an ice type pokemon. Went through the Random Pokemon Generator and stipulated Ice type; Snom was the first to pop up.
Never seen one of these in-game which makes sense as I've barely touched Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet. It's like. It's face is a butt. I don't like it!!
But you know what I do like? Cats
Smokescreen decided to come investigate what the fuck I was doing while I was photographing today's entry and he ended up being a part of the process (that's his fur in the Snom photo).
