I don't know how often I'll try to do 'thematic' pokemon selections (especially since I'm gonna get limited in that regard) but for christmas I left it up to the kids; they picked Staryu (symbolic for a tree topper) or the santa bird and santa bird won the coin toss.
Also can we talk about how it's tail is a sack? It's not holding a sack. That's it's tail. It keeps things in its tail sack.

I yelled when I rolled up 151 on the random number generator, purely because there are very few pokemon I actually know by numerical (national) dex entry.
Also while I was looking this one up and re-reading all the mythos about how this thing came to be during the game's development, I had a very strange memory crisis where I thought I'd been mistaken about which pokemon games I played in the 90's; I've got so many memories of "Red and Blue" so reading that the first games were actually Red and Green fucked me up until I got to the part where Green wasn't released in the states and we got Red and Blue.
