Daily Dex - Garganacl and Frigibax

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop

Both pokemon in today's post are tangentially related to sidequests in the Mega Dimension DLC for Z-A; I don't think this is super spoilery but just tossing that out there in case you care and want to avoid (or you can just not read the descriptions)

Sun 12/21/2025 - Garganacl

Drawing of Pokemon 934; a large seemingly organic robot man made of rock and salt

I feel like any time I'm describing the sidequests from Pokemon Z-A I could be word salad-ing. "Track down sentient rock salt, ask it to stop putting shavings of itself in coffee" is like a goddamn fever dream.

Anyway needless to say, I met the rock salt pokemon Nacli the other day for the first time and when I was asking my kid which pokemon I should draw for Sunday, they asked if I'd ever seen what Nacli evolves into.

I had not.

It's a goddamn rock salt golem?? I love it?? Look at this thing!

Mon 12/22/2025 - Frigibax

Drawing of Pokemon 996, a small sad looking yellow-eyed dragon creature

In a reverse situation, I knew about the pokemon Baxcalibur purely because of its mega evolution from the Z-A DLC trailer (I still haven't seen one in the game) - but I didn't know what it evolved from until I hit this random sidequest in Wild Zone 10 where an introvert lady has inherited a Frigibax and wants you to help it make friends.

It's the silliest goddamn quest and this thing just looks SO SAD ALL THE TIME; I won't spoil, but how the quest appears to end was infuriating until you realize the game is actively fucking with you and it works out great. Z-A, man. What a game.

Anyway that flomp of grey fur at the upper right of the photo is Smokescreen who is kind of a pokemon himself.
