Daily Dex - Houndoom, Hisuian Sneasel, Unown and Chespin
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop
I'll be first to admit I'm off my game this week but there are extenuating circumstances so I'm not really sweating it. Let's dig in.
Mon 03/16/2026 - Houndoom
I did not do this thing justice. It looks wonky as hell and that's not the design's fault. Can't really go wrong with "evil looking goat horned dog" but like man, I sure made it look like a shelter dog with anemia that survived a natural disaster.
As of this post (Thursday evening) I'm doing better but Monday I was still coughing up incredibly gross things. Art gets to suffer a bit as the human does, y'know??
The reason Houndoom was picked for Monday was to continue the theme from the Gundam Age Pirate arc. "Dark Hound" etc etc.
Tues 03/17/2026 - Hisuian Sneasel
One of my kids asked me specifically to do the female Hisuian sneasel on Tuesday. I think I did an OK job. Maybe made the ear too long, I don't know. I think I like the regular color scheme more than the Hisiuan but what can you do. Also it's wild that one is Dark / Ice and the other is Fighting / Poison. Wild pairings.
Weds 03/18/2026 - Unown
Wednesday night I was at the pet hospital getting a cat checked out; he developed a large swelling on the side of his face and I drew an Unown in the waiting room; thankfully it's just dental; he's gonna need a tooth extraction and we're doing antbiotics but god damn was I mentally not gonna be able to handle them saying "yea that's a tumor" and was QUITE relieved at the good news.
Thurs 03/19/2026 - Chespin
The kids today asked me for "The tax fraud Pokemon" (We were talking about Yoshi, it's a natural line of thinking, don't judge me) and when doing a search to see if any pokemon had a history of tax fraud or associations, this reddit post popped up (because search engines these days are just reddit results or AI vomit) and it locked in Chespin for the day.
