Daily Dex - Numel, Golbat and Fuecoco
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop
I'm still not fully locked in on what the posting schedule for this project will be, so here's the latest three. As long as I draw them every day I feel like I've accomplished and when they get post is kind of an afterthought.
Weds 11/12/25 - Numel
I legitimately don't like these things but I hit a random number generator and it landed on 322. Numel evolves into Camerupt which I think is pretty cool and probably the only real thing going for it - look at this thing, it's really hard to get 'Fire / Ground type' out of it the design. It looks like Grass / Normal if anything.
Thurs 11/13/25 - Golbat
Thursday was our first evolution entry! I was gonna do a Zubat but I wanted more of a challenge, and I also got to learn two things:
- If I'm keeping them all in the same grid lines I need to plan out their width sooner or we end up with cropped wings
- For the dark / black areas I need to stick to pencils and not pens because it bleeds through the techo paper at that concentration lmao
Fri 11/14/25 - Fuecoco
Golbat peeking through on the left lol
Look at this goofy little fucker. I've still not played Scarlet / Violet but as a person of hispanic descent I probably owe it to myself to see how bad anime Spain is. I've not heard particularly good things about this game and I'm worried that stepping back to it from ZA will be a bit of a letdown. I don't know. I'll probably get there at some point but it's not high on my priority list.
I've been replaying X / Y on my phone casually, but if I'm honest I think after I wrap on ZA I'm going to shift my 'creature collecting' focus to become a Beastieball sicko. I watched part of the speedrun at Games Done Queer and man. The volleyball combat mechanic is just so goddamn good.
Anyway, till next time!
