I've had a rough couple of days, man! Even though I was committed to drawing these every day, I didn't get around to taking photos or editing them until now so please enjoy.

Coal. Lmao. It's coal. Wow. Anime UK has sentient coal monsters. Love it. I really need to play sword and shield lmao

Fri 02/27/2026 - Fat Pikachu
For Pokemon day I was waffling on if I should use the iconic franchise mascot or do research on like what was the first pokemon ever revealed was (Rhydon) - mascot won out, but if, like me, you tire of the modern interpretation of the yellow rodent, I think you'll appreciate that focusing on fat Pikachu is the correct and true way forward here.

Sat 02/28/2026 - Charmander
I still haven't finished up the blog post about what happened, but we lost our cat Salamander to a stroke on Saturday night.
It was a complete surprise and while waiting to hear if she'd be ok, I frantically and through tears drew a fucking Charmander. It looks like shit. I know it looks like shit. I had hope when I was drawing it though and it just sucks, man. Why they have shorter lifespans than us to begin with us fucked up but for them to get hit with random life ending things from out of nowhere is even worse. I miss her.
Sun 03/01/2026 - Tangrowth
Sunday was incredibly rough as a result of the previous day's situation. I let my kids pick Sunday's entry, and while we'd toyed with the idea of Salamence or other Salamander related pokemon (tbh not sure how many more there are since I've already done Salazzle), that started to border on too sad, so a wild spin lead us to Tangrowth instead.
Which, hey - was neat for me because I didn't even know about this one. I've seen Tangela before but I didn't know it got a later-gen evolution. I learn so much through this project.
Mon 03/02/2026 - Sunkern
Today is also a clusterfuck for a lot of reasons that I don't wanna go in to, but the first thing I did this morning was hit the RNG and draw the number I got so I wouldn't have to deal with it later. So here we have Sunkern.
According to bulbapedia it has the lowest HP stat of any grass type pokemon in the franchise, so it's neat to see that not only is it a pretty bland design, it also sucks to use! But it does evolve into a cuphead boss so who can say if it's bad or not??
