Daily Dex - Sandygast and Duskull
In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop
Sat 03/14/2026 - Sandygast
Random number for this one! In retrospect I should have tried to pick a pie or math themed pokemon for 3/14 but in my defense, the world is on fucking fire with the FBI warning that that a middle eastern superpower we happen to be actively at war with may be targeting my home state for retaliation (which like makes very little sense and feels super fake but what do I know; it'd be a ridiculous justification of war since we're already doing war and the people in power are convinced California is just a bunch of commies who deserve to fall into the sea) so it's kinda hard to maintain any sort of focus.
Plus, I'm still sick! But not nearly as bad as it was. I'm still pretty cough-heavy and exhausted by my throat is healing up.
Amnyway, about the pokemon itself - Sandyghast I met for the first time in Z-A. I thought it was a joke, didn't believe there was a sand castle pokemon. And it gets bigger!! The evolution is significantly more sand castle adjacent!!
Sloth was hanging out while I was drawing it and I had to try to get a shot of him too. My flash working overtime lol
Sun 03/15/2026 - Duskull
My kids are watching Gundam AGE and (trying to be spoiler-free because if you haven't watched the show and you have any gundam proclivities, you really should; it has a horrid reputation as 'the bad kids show' and while the character design does look that way, it's a pretty dark series that makes some wild swings and when it's bad, it's usually bad in a funny way) we just got to the space pirates - kids asked for a pirate-themed pokemon and we ended up with Duskull. Not REALLY pirate themed outside of the skull but you know how it goes. I was gonna go with Dhelmise but the skull just felt more appropriate for the context of the show.
