A few years ago my bank's app decided to do something a little....shall we say...bold.
It included the option to do mobile check deposits from your phone - now before you say "yea, and?" because at this point most bank apps do this and checks are exceedingly more rare as opposed to other forms of digital payment - you have to understand something about me
I live with a fuckton of cats
Every check I have deposited since this feature rolled out I have done so by placing the check on a sleeping cat and photographing it that way.
There's no practical reason for this - I highly doubt anyone actually reviews these images since it's probably highly automated...but on the slim chance that there is some sad bastard working for the megabanks who has the job to monitor these image uploads and check for discrepancies, I want to give them a fucking story to tell when they get home from work that day.
Anyway we can go back to (rightfully) being freaked out by the trump admin's planned annexation of gaza, weirded our by taylor swift's new record/humiliation kink exercise or questioning bluesky's moderation choices. Or like climate change. Whichever. Pick your poison.
