Since the mid 90's my family has been playing a card game called 'Slam' at family events (most notably thanksgiving and Christmas); it was introduced to us by a family member from LA and I was today years old when I learned that 'Slam' is actually a different card game entirely and what we've been playing and calling 'Slam' is a rules variant of something the Bicycle Card website calls
