Knights of Guinevere
Dana Terrace and team's new pilot does NOT fuck around
Watch it. Right now. It's on Youtube. Hell, I'll embed it here:
I've been casually watching this from afar in the sense that I:
- Knew it was in development
- Had watched the teaser eight or so months ago
but I went out of my way to avoid knowing anything else; this meant I found out that the pilot aired on YT from a friend (Thank you Lauren!!!) posting about it and I don't know what I expected from Dana Terrace in a post "got shafted by Disney despite making a critically acclaimed masterpiece for them" world - but god DAMN I'm grinning so fucking hard right now.
The show so far stands on its own merit but for them to set it in a "What if [not]Disney was a multiplanetary imperial hegemony" universe is so goddamn exciting. The 'abandoned projects' warehouse full of what look like Epcot domes, it's oozing so much wonder.
I legitimately think they went out of their way to get the pilot out early so it'd time with the rising anti-disney sentiment (if so, good fucking call lmao) but I have no idea what the release schedule for the show proper will be. Saw some speculation that ep 2 will be in like March and I get it; animation takes a lot of work and this kind of detail isn't something to balk at. The show is fucking GORGEOUS.
Anyway, as an Owl House sicko I can highly recommend this. Just know it's age rating is significantly higher than Owl House; this is a show aimed at adults.
