Last Month In Photos
Realizing I haven't done like a formal blog post for a while so I guess - here's a life update!!!! - the beginning of a new month feels as good a time as any? The horrors persist, but so do I and the least I can do is think positively about the events of my own life, accompanied by photos taken throughout the month (even if they're not necessarily related to the topic at hand).
I don't post online about my day job so I'm not going to blog about it but needless to say working in my particular industry during an oppressive, xenophobic political climate sure is a less than great time!! But at least we're helping people navigate it as best as possible.
The cats are doing well! Or as well as can be expected when many are special needs. Jon Snow's been defying all medical expertise with his 'thriving after being in active heart failure' and I love that for him. He's a fantastic creature. More of the cats have developed diabetes but it's kind of expected when a bunch of them came from the same feral mom who had absolute garbage genes after being a literal kitten factory in the wild. Insulin parties for everyone.
Oh but check out these lesbians
When weather and health permitted, Della and I went on a BUNCH of walks. It ruled. Took lots of photos of things like birds, beasts, and the sky doing incredibly trans and bi-pride focused color schemes:
Also I found my red pants that I haven't seen in literal years!!! I used to wear these all the time but they got lost in a drawer buried under other things I don't often wear after the move. Happy to have the Hayato pants back in rotation. (Grouping the shoe pictures together even though one of them doesn't involve the red pants)
Anyway, the walks have been great both from a photography standpoint but also from a health standpoint which makes me mad because that's what all the advice for healthy life points to. I should be able to be healthy by doing other things!!!
Oh but walks also meant I got to play more with the thermal print camera! Which I hadn't in a while so it was neat to take with on walks and supplement my other shots.
Another thing I noticed on walks is that spring is attempting to be a thing!! Flowers popping out, buds on trees. It's been rad to watch (but I do miss the snow).
That said, the last week though has been incredibly foggy in a "haunted new england" kinda way and I'm here for that as a lack of snow consolation. Camera lens doesn't really handle it but here's our erdtree in the mist:
(Thinking about how for every moon photo I do post, there's so many I don't - doesn't mean I'm not taking up valuable megabyte storage with them all lmao)
Magical Insurance Bureaucrats is moving along nicely! I still don't know what it is; kind of more of a multimedia project at this point since there's short stories, visual art and music (but so far only the former two have made it to the internet). The whole thing started as an exercise to write a soundtrack for a fictional game but then I ended up drawing bird people and mechs and a whole fucken world instead lmfao. Please enjoy what I've got so far in the tag!. More to come.
Speaking of music - that is also coming along! Nothing I can really comment on so far but uhhh might have a new Curious Quail single out soon?? Crossing some fingers. Maybe. Anyway here's a bird nest.
And to close it out - health. I'm doing ok. Della's been better but the nebulous medical conditions she experiences seem to have no end and we take them all in stride. Our pharmacy (where we are endlessly picking up medications) has a brick wall that we both photograph every time we're there; this is one of like three shots from March
Till next time. There'll prolly be a helpful hawk or 'talkin shit' post in the next few days, the birds really provided for the camera this month.
