One Year After Cohost

I've been pretty swamped with a work project that's been taking up a majority of my days while trying to clean a bunch of stuff around the house and 100% Silksong in the free time I have before the FF Tactics remake ends up in my lap, but I'd be lying if I didn't look at the calendar a lot today and think "Shit, today was the last day of Cohost in 2024"
Looking back, my final chost was a re-chost of the goodbye song I wrote for the platform, but my final ACTUAL chosts were:
- A 'Not an Island' post which I've talked about at length here
- A link to a blog post I wrote on this very blog about how the closure of Cohost reminds me a lot of closing music venues
There were some other chosts in there cuz I went a little wild in the dawn of the final day but it's interesting to see where I'm at now with my relationship with social media.
For example, just yesterday I realized I'd hit a milestone where interactions on one of my blog posts (in terms of the bearblog up-vote numbers and number of comentario comments) were higher than the same post's shares to the two social media platforms I'm active on - bluesky and mastodon - and it was a nice (I think) healthy moment of reflection that it never occurred to me to even look at that shit prior - but I think for the most part my end of Blaugust post does a good job at examining the post-Cohost landscape the best.
It's been weird!! but hey, we move on.
Coming up:
I have some photos featured in the debut issue of the Coho Photozine Club which I thiiiink comes out some time next week and I'm stoked about it. Good group of photographers who all used to lurk in the house of Eggbug.
It's also my birthday this weekend! Hopefully I'll be able to take some time off work and get some more home stuff done. Got some exciting plans there lmfao (what is my life when I'm super excited to scrub floors)
Lastly, music stuff as always is in the works but I can't talk about it yet, but hey - bandcamp Friday is coming up and buying 'Quail albums is always a good move there. Just saying.
