Snowapple Says Good Morning
to the old film lenses
On Christmas day last year I dropped my DSLR's 50mm lens shattering it, which like - was not my favorite thing that happened in 2024. I don't use it as much as my other lenses but it does serve a good purpose and today while contemplating my Snowapple photo I realized I wanted a 50; thankfully Della and I have SO many cameras collected over the years that we've got about four different 50mm FD mount lenses from our 70's/80's Canon film cameras, and some (albeit unreliable) adapters for digital.
So here's a fun comparison; same camera, same 2 minute period (and most importantly - same cat); top photo is with my 20mm DSLR lens and bottom is with my 50mm 1.8 canon film lens.
I know it's cuz I'm a nerd but it feels like the colors are more vibrant in the 50, even if it is overall a bit fuzzier (which honestly is probably in part due to the adapter)
