Walk Discovery

This probably sounds like madness but as a photographer I often look for things other than all of the cats I live with to photograph, so I go on walks a lot and try to see if I can catch interesting things - and earlier this month I stumbled on something bonkers; Pages from the lifestyle section of a newspaper dated November 4th, 1984. That in itself is pretty weird, but it was November 4th, 2024 when I found them.

Newspaper on concrete; it's the lifestyle page of 'The Sunday Post' of Bridgeport - dated November 4th, 1984.
My best guess is someone died and their relatives were handling their belongings; there was a recycling bin out in front of a house and the top had blown off, there was other paper and plastic surrounding the area mired in the leaves as well - but it was absolutely bonkers to find newspapers dated forty years to the day from a town that's an hour away from us on the ground.

Another folded up page from the 1984 newspaper; it's on the ground surrounded by fall leaves
With the election madness, our cat Sparkle getting diagnosed with cancer, my dad's declining health and work being absolutely packed, I didn't have a moment to sit down and edit the photos until today.

I gotta admit, having the thanksgiving holiday and the additional friday off has done wonders for my mental state (and creative output) even if everything else is on fire right now.
